The rod is 9” 228mm long is 10mm diam tapering down to 3mm.  The diamond coating covers 8” leaving space to fit a handle if required.   The rod is stainless steel so not prone to rusting but the item should not be left in water as the Nickel plating in which the diamonds are embedded can deteriorate if subject to moisture for long periods. 

       The tool was produced for deburring flutes in gouges, raising burr’s on scrapers, sharpening ring tools etc.
